WELCOME!   (9/1/2004)

Our goal is to present the sharing of martial arts forms and techiques  among martial artists as well as introduce the martial arts to potential newcomers.  Our vehicle is still photography.

The challenge of every website is to offer information clearly with great accessibility.  We have tried to keep file sizes to a manageable level for dial-up viewers.  Ofcourse, this means a bit less resolution than we’d prefer…and there’s no telling what browser or video card you are using. Any suggestions regarding browser compatibility are welcome.

This site will be growing rapidly…particularly our Photo Essay Articles  since conveying techniques and styles through still photography is our primary intent.

We will add content approximately every two weeks.

BTW, our advertisers are people we endorse because they supply us with their products and/or services.

If you are a Martial Arts Photographer who would like to share your photos of styles and techniques, please drop us an e-mail.

And, of course, if you are a Martial Artist who wants to join our project, please contact us!!

The diverse community of the Martial Arts is quite amazing.  Students, in one school in Western New York State, range from 3-1/2 years old to 92.

Learning self-defense is only one of many benefits from studying Martial Arts.  Learning how to fall without injury;  developing muscular control and hand/eye coordination; and the benefits of better health and endurance are among the many benefits of studying the Martial Arts.  I began my training in Issin-Ryu Karate at age 52. I am in hopes of earning my first black belt by age 56.  I am now in better shape physically and mentally than ever before in my life!

Every school is different.  Every style is different.  And, of course, since they are human beings, every Instructor is different.  If you are interested in joining a school for study, we suggest that you visit and request  a few free trial lessons as well as watch several classes of different levels of study.  And when you've decided upon a style to study, visit other schools teaching that style.  Feel free to inquire about backgrounds of Instructors and their credentials.  As with any endeavor, it pays to be an informed and knowledgeable consumer.

Enjoy!  And Always Live for Life!
